Kazakhstan Patent Office Introduces Accelerated Pre-Search Service

A preliminary search is a verification procedure for the identity or similarity of the claimed designation with already registered trademarks, or trademark applications filed for registration. Such a check will help reduce the risk of the probability of refusal to register the claimed designation in connection with the identification of a similar or identical trademark with an earlier filing date.

Prior to October 1, 2019, an urgent search could be carried out within 10 working days. from October 1, 2019, accelerated preliminary search was introduced within 1, 3 and 5 working days.
